Divine Inspiration
A new exhibition at Holy Trinity Church showcases art inspired by the building hosting it.

‘BOaRlaNe’ is a new exhibition of original art work which is a site-specific response to the venue it is housed in: Holy Trinity Church on Boar Lane in the city centre.
Artists in the show have been inspired by the church’s architecture, scale and atmosphere. The main exhibition of mixed-media drawings and paintings, photographs, stained glass and audio-visual presentation, will showcase the artists’ unique response to the surrounding architecture.
Alongside the main show is a cafĂ© exhibition of mixed media works by Miriam Laville. There will also be a short film by Bruce Rimell in the entrance porch, entitled ‘Human Download’.
Artists featured in the show are: Oliver Neilson, Jess Laljee, Sarah Hughes, Nicolette Lafonseca-Taylor, Catherine Corfield, Nick Claiden, Bruce Rimell and Miriam Laville. All of the artists are members of artsmix (a non-profit arts organisation that works in partnership with Leeds City College) and are based in Yorkshire.
The exhibition of original artwork will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Boar Lane from Thursday 4 June to Friday 19 June 2009 from 12noon – 4pm (closed Sundays and Mondays).
