Art In The Pen

This month I attended my first Art In The Pen, they were in their third year. Art In The Pen is held in the auction mart in Skipton, Yorkshire and is a wonderful place to buy art and craft and meet the artists. We were very lucky with the weather during the day so there was a really good turn out. Check out the website, www.artinthepen.org

Also it was the first time that Marmaduke (my beaten up camper) came to work with me. It was quite a challenge to display work in such an unusual setting, I think I did quite well as you can see from the picture. I enjoyed seeing how imaginative other artist were with the space. All in all a great weekend.

As for the rest of August – well it may be early for most of you to be even thinking of uttering the word Christmas! However preparations are already under way to ensure a wealth of new products and designs for you to buy as Christmas gifts for loved ones – or yourself!

Exploring Identity and Printing

This has been such a busy month! I spent a week a Central Saint Martins in London printing onto textile with the lovely and talented Arantaz Vilas. This was a fantastic opportunity for me to begin to marry my love of textiles and stitch with print. Some of my experiments (above). These prints are part of an exhibition I am preparing called “Upon Reflection” which is a personal retrospective that will look at my past with new and older eyes. It will explore issues of identity and identity development.
