Two Opportunities

Also this month a new office complex in Leeds selected four of my drawings. In addition to this I am one of the artists that have been asked to create site-specific work for Trinity church in Leeds as part of their arts@Trinity programme.

Both of these opportunities have come via Artsmix.

The Organic House Exhibition

I have been making preparations for future exhibitions. Throughout the Month of March I will be exhibiting The Organic House in Hebden Bridge. The exhibition will be a collection of my monochromatic work that explores automatism and sense memory. This series of drawings explores automatism and sense memory. Automatism is representational of the conscious mind through disassociation between behaviour and consciousness. I wanted to explore sense memory, allowing initial actions on paper to be performed without conscious thought, then working into the drawings later. The drawings are taken from journeys to my family home in India. The series of work was kept monochromatic ensuring my mind was not distracted by colour and would remain focused on memory and emotion. Following this route gave me a wide variety of interesting marks, adding significant depth to the work.
